Phantom P-51D Mustang Plastic Model Kit

One of Monogram’s most memorable kits is the Phantom Mustang P-51D. The ad copy on the box touts the “see-thru” plastic fuselage and wings. Buttons on the stand operated motors that spun the propeller, raised and lowered the landing gear, and released bombs. (© Jessica Sterling Photography)
