How to get there in 2024
The amazing Egremni beach is situated on the southwest coast of Lefkada island, about 39 kilometers away from Lefkada town, 16 kilometers away from Vasiliki, and 37 kilometers away from Nidri. The nearest village to Egremni is Athani, which lies about 4 kilometers away in the mountans, and offer some restaurants and apartments for travellers.

After a few years of construction, from 2021 the beach can be accessed again on the road due to the newly built, stronger and safer stairs and a renovated asphalt road. The new road which lead from Athani to Egremni beach is wider than before, but be careful when driving this route, its still filled with hairpin bends.
An important information that Egremni beach parking is a paid parking lot, from where you have to climb down a lot of stairs. From the parking lot the distance to the beach is more than 1 kilometer, but the stairs are steep and the walk can be exhausting, especially in hot afternoons. But if you choose the walk down to Egremni beach on the stairs, you will see amazing panoramic views to the beach from above!
How to visit Egremni beach by boat in 2024
The easiest access to Egremni beach is by boat, which is recommended if there are small children or older people in your family. For boat trips to Egremni beach you have to travel to the port of Nidri (Nydri) or to the port of Vasiliki, because only these villages offer daily boat trips to the west coast.
The daily boat excursions from Nidri and Vasiliki depart in the morning hours during the summer months, and spend a few hours on the beach. The daily cruises depart several times a week from both ports of Lefkada, actual schedules are avalaible in tourist offices, can be read on flyers and leaflets, and in the evenings at the boats.

Egremni beach history
In Lefkada Egremni beach has its own interesting history. A few years ago, before the earthquake of November 2015, a lot of concrete stairs and a dilapidated wooden staircase were the final sections of the path. Both were ruined and collapsed in the earthquake, which made a lot of damage for Lefkada island, and hit especially the southern areas. The road which led to the beach also destroyed in this earthquake, and this part of Lefkada island became unreachable by car and scooters for years.

A few years ago the road was finally reasphalted, and in early 2021 the ruined stairs were replaced by a much stronger metal staircase, for a safer and more stable beach access.
