Hope Sandoval is an American singer-songwriter born 1966 in Los Angeles, California. Sandoval is best know as the lead singer of dream-pop band Mazzy Star. She now works with ex-My Bloody Valentine drummer Colm O'Ciosoig in the duo Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions. The band's style has elements of Mazzy Star but has a generally lighter more atmospheric sound of their own. As always, the sound is characterised by Sandoval's dreamy voice. To-date the band has released three studio albums, plus several EP's and Singles. Standouts include their excellent debut album Bavarian Fruit Bread, plus Through the Devil Softly and the EP At The Doorway Again. As well as her work with Mazzy Star and the current band, Sandoval has added her voice to albums by many other artists including Massive Attack, Jesus and Mary Chain, Mercury Rev, AIR and The Chemical Brothers.
