In a little over a week, new Fortnite skins, gliders, items, weapons, and much more are expected to appear in the game, as part of Chapter 5 Season 2.
As with any new season of Fortnite, players are anticipating exciting new content that will continue to push the highly popular battle royale title forward. And since the Epic Games shooter is constantly adding new characters, players should plan to see new franchises enter the arena.
Although there has been very little information concerning the upcoming season, there have been several leaks, which indicate the direction of Fortnite. The theme of the coming update appears to be mythology, as reports have suggested that Chapter 5 Season 2 is codenamed Odyssey.
Even though nothing official has been announced, it is also believed that the next season will begin on March 8, 2024.
Latest Leak Suggests Two Free Fortnite Skins Will Be Available at the Start of Season 2
If you are a fan of Fortnite skins, then there is a high likelihood you will want to know that the upcoming season is expected to see two of these free cosmetics.
According to a recent leak posted to X, Chapter 5 Season 2 will include an Odyssey skin, which will be based on ranked competition, and a Brite Agent skin, which is a free “LEGO starter pack skin.” The post also includes two images of the Fortnite skins, along with catch phrases attached to each outfit.
The Odyssey skin is a legendary item, and it declares, “It’s fine now. Why! Because I am here.” The Brite Agent skin will be an uncommon piece, and the description of the attire says, “Bold, brite, and ready for recon. Part of the Operation Brite set.”
If the aforementioned leak is accurate, the first Fortnite skin seemingly confirms a mythology themed season is on the way. And based on other information that has been uncovered, it seems there’s a good chance of this being true.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Will Include More Than Just Two Free Skins
Given the anticipated mythology theme, other surrounding leaks for the upcoming season of Fortnite make complete sense. One of the biggest leaks that fans believe to be legit is the return of Kratos as a Fortnite skin.
Veteran players of the title will recall that this is not the first time Kratos has been a part of the battle royale world. The God of War appeared in Fortnite four years ago, as a part of Chapter 2 Season 5.
Following a similar pattern, Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is also on the short list of expected skins. This would certainly be a welcome addition for many fans of Ubisoft’s beloved franchise.
There is also a high chance based on recent leaks that Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender will make his debut appearance in Fortnite. If the information is true, this collaboration will feature a premium reward track and Appa inspired glider, among other great items.
