BOOM! Studios will end its Mighty Morphin Power Rangers ongoing monthly series, one of the longest-running series in comics, in July, followed by a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour one-shot that wraps up the storyline.

The final issue of the ongoing series will be #122, which will be released on July 24; the Darkest Hour one-shot, an oversized issue, will follow one week later, on July 31.

The story finds the Morphin Grid in danger, and no Power Rangers to protect the people of earth.  An unlikely group of Power Rangers, rogues, and villains make strange company as the ultimate battle against Dark Specter plays out.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour #1 will be written by Melissa Flores, with art by Simona Di Gianfelice and colors by Raul Angulo.   At least 11 covers will be produced, including an A cover by Taurin Clarke, a Dark Grid variant by Bjorn Barends, Helmet variant by Goni Montes, and a Spoiler variant by Santa Fung, along with Foil, 1:5, 1;10, 1;25, FOC Reveal, and Unlockable variants.

The ongoing series began in 2015 (see “New ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Comic Series”).

BOOM!’s relationship with the property is not ending; the company promises multiple excitements in the coming months.
