Jesse Williams and ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee settle child custody request

Jesse Williams and his ex-wife, Aryn Drake-Lee, have settled a child custody request regarding their two kids, 8-year-old Sadie and 6-year-old Mateo, according to multiple reports.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled that the “Grey’s Anatomy” alum, 40, is allowed to take part in a Broadway play in New York without reduced custody time, according to court documents obtained by TMZ Tuesday.

Drake-Lee, 40, reportedly previously argued that because Williams would be spending a lot of time in New York, his physical custody time with his kids should be revised.

The parents will maintain shared legal custody, per the documents.

Williams, who left “Grey’s Anatomy” after 12 seasons in May 2021, has been cast as one of the stars of the revival of Richard Greenberg’s “Take Me Out,” which is set to open in the Spring.

The actor previously said in a press release of being part of the revival for the Tony Award-winning play, “I’m incredibly honored by the opportunity to expand on such a profound narrative.”

The judge granted Williams four consecutive days with his kids — and two of those days could be weekend days — while he works in the Big Apple, per TMZ. However, he cannot cancel a date and then “un-cancel.”

The custody agreement is set to be revised once again once Williams’ play wraps.

The judge also reportedly gave the “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2” star the power to have “tie-breaking authority” over his real estate broker ex about which COVID-19 protocol his children will follow, such as vaccines and face masks.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Williams and Drake-Lee were also advised to seek the help of a third-party counselor.

“The parties both seek a great deal of fine-tuning in their custody and visitation orders, much of which a court is not as well equipped to handle as the parents themselves through a third-party coordinator or counselor,” the judge said, according to court documents. “Of course, if the parties cannot agree they can come back to court.”

In April 2021, the exes were also ordered to attend “high-conflict” parenting classes, since it seemed as if they could not agree on anything.

Williams and Drake-Lee separated in 2017, but their contentious divorce was not finalized until October 2020.

The former couple first met around 2007 when Williams was a schoolteacher in New York City and tied the knot in 2012.

A rep for Williams did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
