John Schneider is mourning the death of his wife, Alicia Allain, who passed away after battling breast cancer. She was 53.
The “Dukes of Hazzard” star announced the sad news in a Facebook post Wednesday. He included a photo of Allain giving a thumbs up and another snap of his hand holding hers.
“My beautiful Smile is pain free, living in her new body alongside Jesus. Please respect our privacy during this time of grief,” he wrote.
“…hug those you love tight and let them know how you feel. We always did.”
Early Thursday, Schneider shared another photo of him and Allain and described his “unimaginable sorrow” and grief.
“Alicia was the fuel that ran my biggest dreams. The inspiration behind every creative thought. The very fabric of my soul. The glue that held me together,” the “Smallville” alum, 62, wrote in a second post.
“I miss her more than any words could possibly describe. Pain is too small a word. Grief is too small a word. Love itself is too small a word.”
Allain disclosed on “Fox and Friends” in 2020 that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 HER2-negative cancer over Memorial Day Weekend 2019.
“She was three years into a five-year shelf life,” Schneider said in the joint interview with Allain.
The actress and producer discovered she had cancer after she noticed an issue with her skin, which led her to visit a dermatologist who gave her the diagnosis.
Schneider and Allain began dating in 2015 but unofficially wed in 2019 in the midst of his divorce from Elvira “Elly” Schneider. The marriage became legal as soon as his split was finalized.
Allain, who also served as her husband’s manager, is survived by a daughter, Jessica, a stepdaughter, Karis, and a granddaughter.
