Mammillaria parkinsonii

Mammillaria is a very large genus of cacti native to Mexico and the southwestern U.S., with some of the species staying single-headed and others making clumps. M. parkinsonii is one of the clumpers, with the heads dividing and re-dividing over time. Its many small spines and rings of wooly hairs make it very attractive, but its flowers are less colorful than most of its kin. It is native to east-central Mexico, and is one of the easier species to grow.
