Elisabeth Shue To Co-Star With Julie Delpy In New Netflix Series 'On The Verge'

It’s pretty much impossible to keep up with every single series and film coming to Netflix. And it’s almost a chore to sift through all the new releases in the app to find something that might be interesting. But sometimes, there are projects that rise above the clutter and intrigue us quite a bit, such as the upcoming series “On the Verge,” starring Julie Delpy.

And according to a new report from Deadline, Julie Delpy is getting some pretty great help in the cast of her new series, as “On the Verge” adds Elisabeth Shue to the mix. The series, which is also produced and co-written by Delpy (along with Alexia Landeau), follows the story of four women in their late-forties that attempt to reinvent themselves instead of falling into the typical midlife crisis. Delpy and Shue will play two of the four women.

Shue is probably best known for her Oscar-nominated role in 1995’s “Leaving Las Vegas.” However, she’s been a well-known Hollywood figure for decades, with roles in films such as “The Karate Kid,” “Back to the Future Parts II & III,” “Hollow Man,” and many, many more. Most recently, she had a starring role in the hit Amazon series “The Boys.”

Delpy, of course, is the star of the acclaimed ‘Before’ Trilogy, written and directed by Richard Linklater and co-starring Ethan Hawke. Recently, she’s been working behind the camera, as well, directing films such as “2 Days In New York,” “Lolo,” and “My Zoe.”

“On the Verge” doesn’t have a release date yet, but the 12-episode series will premiere on Canal+ in France and on Netflix around the world.
