The only house by MOCA architect Arata Isozaki in the States has listed in Los Angeles for $5.495.

Isozaki originally designed the three-bedroom Venice property 30 years ago for art collector Teresa Bjornson, and that probably explains the concrete abode’s soaring gallery-like proportions.

Its grand room has 30-ft ceilings and enormous triangular skylights cut into the roof of the sculptural two-storey home.

Eric Clapton owned the Los Angeles property from the late 1990s until around 2004, and it was listed for sale last July but it failed to find a buyer. It’s now back on the market – with an increased price tag of $5.495m – via Josh & Matt Altman, Douglas Elliman, and it comes with furniture by contemporary artist Klaus Rinke.
