Yvonne Strahovski has been cast in Amazon‘s western drama pilot “Edge,” Variety has learned exclusively. She will co-star opposite Max Martini and Ryan Kwanten.

Strahovski will play Beth, a mysterious Pinkerton detective who’s a newcomer to the bloody town of Seward, Kansas, where the series is set.

The show, based on the books by author George Gilman, follows Josiah Hedges, better known as Edge (Martini), a man who’s out for vengeance after his younger brother is killed by a group of his former Union army comrades, lead by his nemesis, Merritt Harknett (Kwanten).

Alicja Bachleda (“The Girl Is in Trouble“) has also joined “Edge” in a recurring role. She will portray Pilar, a pregnant woman who is held prisoner by her husband and father-in-law and pleads with Edge (Martini) to help her escape.

Strahovski has been courted for a variety of pilots over the past few seasons. Coming off of the “24” event spinoff series “24: Live Another Day,” the “Dexter” and “Chuck” alum is currently starring in ABC’s summer ensembler “The Astronaut Wives Club.” She will also star in upcoming films “Manhattan Nocturne,” opposite Adrien Brody, and director Marc Forster’s “All I See Is You,” opposite Blake Lively.

“Edge” hails from Shane Black (“Iron Man 3”) who will serve as writer, director, exec producer. Fred Dekker will also write and exec produce, along with EPs David Greenblatt and Barry Josephson.

Strahovski is repped by Paradigm, McKeon Myones Entertainment and Sue Barnett in Australia. Bachleda is also repped by Paradigm.
