Great book with many full-color pictures, and explanations of where they appeared. No judgments were made in the book regarding the meanings of each, which I really appreciate. It's obviously not a comprehensive book of all the crop circles that have ever been made, but certainly a large amount of them in this book. I'm pleased with it.

Having seen this book on the coffee table of friends we were visiting in Chicago, I was intrigued. When we got back home in Washington, D.C. I went to our local bookstore to buy a copy of my own. Since I didn't have th authors name or any publisher info, I called our Chicago friends. They suggested that I go to AMAZON.COM. With that great Amazon search ability, I was able to spot the book I wanted by the cover. If any of you reading this have heard of crop circles, but just passed them off as a hoax, you MUST get this book and start looking at the evidence. These photos clearly demonstrate that no human could possibly have created some of the more intricate ones, especially in the short time it takes for them to appear. It is truly a wonderful mystery. (By the way, for a large, attractive coffe table type book, the Amazon price was surprisingly low. This would be a wonderful Christmas present for any sceptics on your list! This book is a beautiful and welcome exploration of the phenomenon of crop circles that leaves aside the dispute between those who steadfastly maintain they are communications from extraterrestrial beings and those who unquestioningly dismiss them as clever hoaxes. Instead, it traverses a third path, starting from a position of openness to what they possibly communicate and pursuing their meaning through an exploration of “sacred geometry”, the essence of numbers and their related geometrical forms.

However they are created, it is comforting to imagine that the powers behind these crop circles appear to value beauty, order, reverence, wonder and awe. The circles also don’t cause damage to the fields in which they are placed — perhaps reflecting a wish to do no harm. Maybe we don’t need to be afraid of whatever is creating them.

The pictures in this book are excellent. If you are mostly interested in photos and locations, this is the book for you. Extensive and thorough. The landscape-style photograph makes each ART.

Crop Circles is an overview of the many crop circles that have been located around the world. The circles are well photographed and the odd occurrences that accompany the circles are discussed. The photographs are outstanding and are worth the price of the book. Please note: this is the Kindle edition.

The circles themselves are stunning. As art, they pass the test of beautiful designs, and the book proves that contention without a problem.

The three star rating is due to the inadequate discussion of the creation of the circles. Mr. Alexander seems to assume some non-human element in their creation. The deeper more complex scientific research that has gone into understanding how the circles was created isn't here. In spite of this, the book is fun to read and will make a good reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous book
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 6, 2010
With a new and casual interest in the subject I bought this fairly low-priced book on spec. At first reading it is fabulous, both visually and with intelligent and objective writing. As a hard-bitten engineer and having been a designer, draftsman and surveyor I laughed out loud at the wonder and complexity of these patterns. It would take days or weeks for people to lay these out, not a couple of hours in the dark. Any ideas on the origin of these are left to the imagination. A great book and food for thought - get it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent photographs of many amazing formations
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 6, 2017
Excellent photographs of many amazing formations. Many, which are far too large and intricate, to be hoaxes, as mentioned by other reviews.
If the hoaxers claim they can produce some of these amazing, geometric patterns, just with wooden boards, string and a tape measure, in darkness, in the middle of summer, when there is only around 6-7 hours of total darkness and with no aerial view of what they are producing, let them show us. Come on prove it. Bring it on!
There seems to be many esoteric messages in the formations. Is it a warning fom alien gods, hidden in plain sight? Maths and geometry is the easiest way to communicate with others in the Universe.
