Frito-Lay takes its chip flavors very seriously. When it comes to Doritos alone, we’ve had recent varieties including Twisted Lime, Tangy Pickle, and, yes, even Mountain Dew. The latest, however, is for people who coat their salads, pizzas, and just about everything in ranch dressing. Prepare to devour a bag of the new Doritos Tangy Ranch!
Now we can’t not address the obvious here. How does this flavor differ from the classic Cool Ranch? Great question! Honestly, we won’t know for sure until we dive into a bag ourselves. But we do know that Doritos Cool Ranch are made with ingredients like cheddar cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, and buttermilk. The Tangy Ranch includes the same, but also has sour cream, as detailed on the nutritional label, so maybe that’s where that tang comes from.
Instagram account @rednecksnackandfood, who picked up the new flavor at Walmart, gave them a 10 out of 10 taste rating. They noted that the Tangy Ranch is bolder than Cool Ranch and have a “slight kick.” So it sounds like if you’d like even more ranch flavor with your chips, these will be right up your alley.
While Frito-Lay has yet to announce the new flavor, it has already popped up on various retailers’ websites, including Target and Kroger. However, it might take a little time before they roll out nationwide. Let the snack hunting begin!
