Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich boats seven properties in the UK alone - but his £475m super yacht Eclipse attracts far more attention than his land-based property portfolio.

The Russian billionaire has been barred from Britain since his visa was not renewed by the British Government May 2018.

While the snub probably dented Abramovich's pride, it's hard to feel too sorry for him considering the Blues owner has an estimated £9billion squirrelled away in his bank accounts.

Even so, the oil magnate must have been feeling pretty flush in 2010 when he commissioned shipbuilders Blohm and Voss to built the Eclipse.

Although the magnificent vessel is regularly described as ‘the $1.5 billion yacht’, her real cost price was considerably less, coming in at around $700m.

When it was built, the Eclipse was was the largest private yacht in the world - although it since been surpassed by the super yacht Azzam.

Abramovich's pride and joy can accommodate 36 guests in comfort, and boasts a cinema, conference facilities, children's playroom, beauty salon, dance floor, swimming pool and sauna.

Abramovich's 163-meter-long yacht has a movie theatre and two mini-submarines

Eclipse also has two helicopter pads, three launch boats and a mini-submarine that is capable of submerging to a depth of 50 metres.

She has four diesel engines and a maximum speed of 22 knots, although this speed is well surpassed by some of the newer super yacht builds.

Early 2015 Eclipse was seen in a dry dock at the Blohm+Voss yard in Hamburg to undergo a multi-million pound refit.

It has been rumoured that the vessel has an anti paparazzi system to help protect Abramovich's privacy.

A laser purportedly detects the electronic light sensors that digital cameras use, before the camera is targeted with a beam of bright light.

The light supposedly overexposes the photo, making it useless.

Abramovich's new super yacht, known as Project Solaris, is currently under construction in Germany at Lloyd Werft. The completion date is as yet unknown.
