Description: Spikes of dense tiny urn-shaped flowers resembling bunches of grapes. This the reason for the common name grape hyacinth.

Botanical facts: The name muscari comes from the Greek muschos (musk) referring to the scent.
Design notes: These small delicate flowers work best in fresh water and designed in groupings.
Purchasing hints: Purchase erect turgid spikes with blossoms well attached to the spike. Mascara is very delicate and damages easily. Avoid spike that are shedding blossoms.
Conditioning: Remove all foliage that will be below the waterline. Cut stem ends with a sharp knife. Hydrate in a solution of water and commercial floral food for two hours before storage or usage.
Additional notes: Muscari is an early spring-blooming bulbous perennial that is native to southeastern Europe. Flower fragrance is sweet and intense.
