DAY OF ISSUE. Francis M. Rogallo, a scientist at the NASA Langley Research
Center in Hampton, Va., invented the Rogallo wing, a totally flexible wing
used in the recovery of space vehicles and delivery of military air-cargo
and low-speed flight including hang gliding, ultralight aircraft and parachutes.
