Zooey Deschanel reveals unusual baby name: 'Yes, after the animal'
The New Girl actress gave birth to her baby girl 3 months ago
It's been three months since Zooey Deschanel gave birth to her daughter and we've been dying to know what the quirky star has named her. Finally we know, and yes - it's about as unusual as we expected.
Zooey has named her firstborn Elsie Otter. But, she can't mean like the actual adorable animal can she? "Like the animal," she confirmed at the Rock the Kasbah premiere in New York. "Sea otter," her husband Jacob Pechenik added.
Well, why not? We do have a soft spot for otters, especially how they hold hands in the sea and use pebbles to break open their food. (Wikipedia this immediately, it's adorable.)
Elsie Otter was born in late July in Austin, Texas. Her parents announced their marriage and their daughter's birth in August," according to People.
Although Zooey, 35, hasn't shared any photos of her newborn just yet, her New Girl co-star Lamorne Morris has revealed just what she looks like. "She’s an extremely cute baby," he said. "She looks like Zooey."
