How to Make a Balloon Fish

Hello! Today, I'm going to teach you how to make an adorable little fish.  You'll need two balloons. I've chosen an orange modeling balloon to make the body of the fish, but you could use red, or any other color you like, and a little white round balloon to make the eyes!

To start, we're going to inflate the modeling balloon but not all the way! We're going to leave... about... a hand's width, which will not be inflated... roughly like this. We're going to start by making... one sausage bubble... about three fingers wide. Followed by another sausage bubble, a bit smaller this time, about two fingers. Then another sausage bubble, exactly... the third sausage bubble will have to be exactly... the same size as the second bubble. And the fourth one... will be the same size as the first one.

So, big sausage bubble, small sausage bubble, small sausage bubble, and big sausage bubble. Remember, when you have a row of bubbles, you only need to hold the first and the last one, and the ones in the middle will not unravel. No need to contort yourself every which way! You take... the... knot... and wrap it around several times... around the base of the fourth bubble. Turn them together, several times, to secure the knot properly.

Compress the balloon to keep it nice and supple.

And here, for the next bubble, we take the size... let's see... the whole of a hand... about an entire hand's width. Then, make a small regular bubble, and turn it into a "pinch-twist", followed by another little round one, so a little, round, regular bubble, that we will also turn into a pinch-twist

Spread out... the air pressure over the rest of the balloon. And create another sausage bubble, the same size as this one. Here, these two bubbles should be the same size. Then a third one, still the same size, and attach it to the two others.

Next... with what's left, we're going to puncture the end of the balloon, let the air out, just a little, and tie a knot. There! Divide the rest of the bubble into two parts of unequal lengths, the first one will be a bit longer... and the last one, a bit shorter. Then, tie the last bubble around... the four bubbles. Those will form the tail. And the little bit that's left, you're going to tuck it... between the three large bubbles.

For the tail, we're going to fold it all together. The little bubbles... I mean, the crease between the small bubbles joins up with the crease between the big bubbles, and then you can twist them together, like this! There!

Now, we're going to set aside the body of the fish, and take the little white round balloon, which we'll inflate... but not too much!

Here, when you look at the balloon... See... it has to be proportioned roughly like this. Yes... a bit smaller than the tail. Tie your knot... you can in fact make it a double knot! And... you're going to divide it... just like making a bubble with a modeling balloon... you're going to divide the round balloon into two equal parts... that you're going to tuck... tuck right here, and this little bit of balloon is going to come and... close up... the gap between these two eyes.

And here's our little fish! If you like, you can rearrange the lips, so you can really see the crease, it looks a little cuter. And now we're going to take a marker, and draw eyes on it! Like this!

Now, if you like... we can add more bubbles. This is extra, it's optional... We take a transparent modeling balloon... that we're going to inflate just halfway. With this, make a row of bubbles, separated... by a pinch-twist. So : a bubble... a pinch-twist... a bubble... a pinch-twist... Don't forget to regularly compress the balloon, to evenly spread out the air pressure, towards the tip of the balloon. A bubble... a pinch-twist... (and so on)

And when you're left with one little oval, simply divide it into two bubbles... that we're going to tuck together... that we're going to tie... onto a pinch-twist, to get something that looks like this. Next we take our little fish... and we're going to tuck this... behind the eyes... tuck the first bubble behind the eyes, and the knot, we're going to stretch it... and attach it all the way to... the lips... and hide the nozzle.
