In February, actor John Schneider lost his beloved wife Alicia Allain. Just a few years after they wed in 2019, Allain passed away at home at the age of 53. At the time, Schneider shared a photo of himself and his late wife and wrote, “My beautiful Smile is pain free, living in her new body alongside Jesus. Please respect our privacy during this time of grief. Please do not ask any questions. If you have any pictures of us and our obvious love and adoration for each other, please post them below. Lastly… hug those you love tight and let them know how you feel. We always did.” Allain had been battling breast cancer.

Months after her passing, Schneider was seen in Hollywood for the first time since her death and opened up about a very special project he’s working on. The 63-year-old said that he is currently writing a new album that will honor her. He explained, “My bride Alicia and I did our own movies and our own music, so we didn’t work for anybody. So that was very, very helpful. Now that my much, much, much better half is not here, but waiting for me, I am trying to honor her professionalism and trying to honor her skill.”

He continued, “I just finished a new album that I think is the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s all about her, it’s called We’re Still Us. It hurt so bad to write. It hurt so bad to sing. But the final product is going to be healing for those who are going through this, of which, statistically speaking, two people get married, one of them is going to die first.” It wasn’t just songs he was writing for her but he admitted that he writes letters to heaven every single day.

Schneider also regularly shares photos of Allain on his social media pages and hopes to help others experiencing the same grief. He hopes to inspire a new love for couples, making them realize how much they mean to each other before it is too late. Schneider adds that with his new album, he will be sharing his healing journey and helping others in a similar situation. He tearfully added that he never realized that he would be in this position but since he is, he wants to help others too.

He added that he plans to reunite with her in heaven one day and said, “I did not lose her. I know where she is, and one of these days — if I do not screw it up — I will meet her there. It is up to me now.”
