CARRETA-CARRETA TURTLES

carettacarettaThe Stalos Beach and the beaches in the area of Chania are beaches that have been hosting the Caretta – Caretta Turtules for centuries.

The Stalos beach is a nesting site for these sea turtles.
The strong growth in the region has unfortunately reduced the presence of the Caretta – Caretta in Stalos.

Nevertheless major efforts are in effect to preserve and protect these sea turtles in hope that they will continue to return to our area.
