Pictured above is an adult image of this fish. These beautiful nano fish are sold as juveniles, which are approximately 2-3 months old. These fish are TINY, so they are well suited for a small aquarium with plenty of cover. Any aquarium from 5 gallons to 29 gallons is generally a good size, but there are also examples of CPD's being kept in larger aquariums. The key here is that you don't keep this fish with larger fish that may prey on them. A good general rule is if a fish can fit this fish in it's mouth, it will eventually eat them.

CPD's don't mind cooler temperatures, and will breed readily in the aquarium. They are an egg scattering fish and they can be quite shy. The more hiding spots you provide for them, the more outgoing they will be. They eat small foods such as nano pellets, flake foods, bug bites, and live baby brine. They prefer to eat food out of the middle of the water column so it is best to feed them frequent small feedings.

I hope you enjoy these fish as much as I do! They are a beautiful nano species and my absolute favorite fish!
