How Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen and Bridget Moynahan became a unified family as NFL star shares son, 13, with ex
AS football star Tom Brady secured his 10th appearance in a Super Bowl, the Hall of Famer rushed to the stands to give his son Jack a hug, as he, his wife Gisele Bundchen and Jack's mom Bridget Moynahan continue growing together.
As the star quarterback helped lead his new Tampa Bay Buccaneers team to victory over the Green Bay Packers last week, Brady went to the stands and asked "can I say hi to my son" as 13-year-old Jack rushed into a warm embrace with his superstar dad.
"Love you kiddo," Brady was heard saying to his son. Friends of Brady said Jack was like a spitting image of his dad.
"He has got his dad’s long legs and he’s really talented," said one friend. "I don’t know if he’ll be a professional footballer player, because can you imagine the pressure that comes with being Tom Brady’s son?"
Brady himself echoed those thoughts, saying Jack would do anything to see him play.
"Oh man, he’s such a trooper," Brady said. "Jack was all in. He came and watched, sitting out in the freezing cold and was just so happy at the end."
"He’s a special kid. I love my family," Brady continued. "Obviously, I love my team, and there’s just no greater feeling than to spend those moments with all of us together after a great win."
"Could not be more proud @tombrady said he would do it and he did. Congratulations @buccaneers," Bridget Moynahan wrote on Instagram in celebrating Brady's win.
Jack's mom is Brady's former girlfriend Moynahan, who found out she was pregnant in February 2007 just two months after she and Brady had split up.
Her followers praised her support for her ex, and said they loved how she was another member of the Brady family.
"So awesome to watch you both navigate your lives in such a supportive, respectful way! High praise! Can’t be easy living in the spotlight," wrote one commenter.
"Have not been a Tom Brady fan because of how he treated you in the past," wrote another. "If you can cheer for him today, I can too. It was a great win!"
Moynahan, now 49, had been dating Brady for two years before the two split up. When she found out she was pregnant with John "Jack" Edward, Brady had already started dating his now-wife Gisele Bundchen.
Brady was there for Jack since the beginning, but Moynahan did add he wasn't always there for the former couple.
"He was there on that day and came in afterwards," she said. "He certainly wasn’t holding my hand while I pushed."
BBrady likewise echoed Moynahan's thoughts, saying Bundchen didn't take it so lightly either.
"It was very hard for [Bundchen] to think she fell in love with this guy, and now this guy’s ex-girlfriend’s pregnant," Brady told Howard Stern. "And it was very challenging for my son’s mom because she didn’t envision that either."
"I felt like I didn’t know what to do. It was one of those moments where like, do I run away?" Bundchen herself said about the odd situation in 2015. "Now, eight years later, I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter bonus child."
Apparently, Bundchen and Moynahan have gotten much closer over the years as Jack grew older.
"Gisele and Bridget now actually talk as much as Tom and Bridget, if not more," said a friend of the Brady's.
Brady would go on to marry Bundchen in 2009 and would have two kids who are very close with Jack, while Moynahan would marry investment banker Andrew Frankel in 2015.

"Tom and I made a decision to raise a child together and we both found partners that not only supported us in raising that child, but also loved our child as if he was their own," Moynahan said. "I don’t think you can ask for more than that. My son is surrounded by love."

"There were obviously challenges when Gisele had just met Tom, but Jack made their family blended and it’s about family and nothing else matters, they make it work because of their love for Jack and the kids,” said a friend.
"They’re a true, modern blended family."
