History

The Jack Daniel's brand is born at the end of the 19th century. At that time, it was difficult to find a decent whiskey in the United States since many stores owners used to cut the barrels with chemicals in order to increase their profits. The brand Jack Daniel's has been created with the conviction that quality will be a guarantee of success.

The Jacks Daniel's motto was a good one, since the American government created the Bottle-in-Bond label a few years later, in 1897. It aimed at establishing criteria to control the quality of whiskeys produced in the United States : the harvest had to take place in the same year, the production had to be done in a single distillery, the whiskey has to be aged exclusively in new American white oak barrels and for a minimum period of 4 years. Last, but not least, the bottling had to be done with an alcohol content of 50% Vol.

Appearance

The rectangular 1L bottle is a little bit larger than the Old No. 7's one, the brand's original whiskey. The color of the whiskey is also a little darker, even if it lightens slightly once in a glass.

Nose

Jack Daniel's Bottle in Bond diffuse at first incredibly sweet flavors of light caramel, wheat and hay notes, scattered with bitter tangarin. More pronounced caramel notes appear gradually, underlined by floral nuances of lila, oak and some herbal spices.

Taste

Extremely sweet notes of vanilla with floral inches tickle at first your palate. The whiskey develops then notes of smoky oak on the tongue. By keeping your sip long enough in your mouth, you will feel cloves that withdraws gradually. A creamy caramel takes over and fades away during the finish.
