Yuval Gilboa is a composer, conductor, guitarist, and multilingual singer-songwriter. His songs involve texts in Italian, French, English, Hebrew, and Spanish which combine tunes and melodies that are influenced by worldwide genres.
Yuval began his musical career as a guitarist, arranger, and writer in a number of musical groups and projects. After finishing his army service, he fell in love with traditional folk music he heard on records from all over the globe. Inspired by their magic, he started to experiment and translate his songs in order to give them a different tone and character. During the writing process, he founded ‘The Cameria of Yuval Gilboa’, a collective of six musicians, that together recorded a debut album that bears the ensemble’s name and incorporates South-western Europe, Latin America, Hebrew Baroque, and African music.
Through powerful brass instruments, rich harmonies, a tight rhythm section, and songs in various languages that speak about the search for a home, the meaning of being a human, and the connection to the past, Yuval and the Cameria’s members create colorful pieces that celebrate multiculturalism.
