Book about the greatest rock singer….:)

This book was very interesting. It was carefully researched and there was a lot of material describing Freddie's early life up to his death and all of the steps the band took to become one of the best all time bands out there. There was a few places that dragged a bit with all of the info. you were given and could have been shortened with ultimately the same understanding. But overall, if you want to know about Freddie Mercury, Queen, and their steps to rise to the top, this book should keep you interested to the end.

I was not familiar with Freddie Mercury til the movie Bohemian Rhapsody came out. I had heard of Queen, but didn’t know anything about the group. The book tells it all. Very well written and informative. Freddie was a fascinating character and a true showman.

Outstanding book. Cried at the end. Very touching. Yes Freddie lived a very active life behind closed doors and people viewed him as a bad person. He had a big heart for everyone. Sadly too many took advantage of his kindness. He kept his tenderness well hidden by his rough and ready performance. He truly was the "The Great Pretender. " Not to leave out he had alot of foresight into the music industry and was a brilliant musician. I wonder what he'd think of today's music.... Recommend this book to anyone who is a Freddie Mercury/Queen fan.

This book is hugely informative. Clearly carefully and deeply researched.

It is not a warm or emotional book. If you want to feel something about Freddie it is not the place to look.

If you want to know ... It's pretty good.

This was interesting all the way thorough from beginning to end. I was so intrigued that it took me less than a day to read and I would reread many areas of the book that caught my interests. Very organized and the author really researched his life. You will definitely know more about Freddie and how he may have thought about his career and his relationships.

If you are really interested in early English rock history this is an interesting read. So many people do not remember or appreciate what a performer and singing force Freddy was. This is a great chronicle of his life. It is written in an easy to read style. He was a heck of a force on stage. This book is best read along with viewing many of the Queen and Freddy Mercury videos.

5.0 out of 5 stars rare and fare story of freddie for a change
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 5, 2018
the only book about freddie mercury which is for a change fare and dignified. ive read all others and find only this book thzt is fair and void of temptation to concentrate on details of his sex life. the man was a unique musical legend with all exceptional gifts to create and run an empire. who cares what he did in his bedroom? this book to some extent addresses those. yet it still does notg fully approach those areas. we still need to know more about his busiess chaqllenges and how he succeeded. we need to know more about those who haunted him all the way. meanwhile this is the best of all thosd books around so far, well done
